3. PAIA Guide
The Information Regulator's PAIA Guide and current official forms are available from https://inforegulator.org.za/ and https://eservices.inforegulator.org.za/. Requesters should use current official resources rather than an outdated copied form.
4. Records automatically available
Public website information, published policies, public Store and Marketplace listings, and published contact information may be available without a formal PAIA request. Private records are not automatically available merely because a category is named in this Manual.
5. Records under other legislation
Where held, record categories may be subject to applicable corporate, tax, consumer, electronic-transactions, privacy, employment, intellectual-property or other legislation. This Manual does not claim that BookLaunchIQ holds every possible record under every law.
6. Categories of records
Potential record categories include corporate/governance; finance/accounting; customers/orders/payments; authors; manuscripts and publishing workflows; publishing products; Marketplace/Store; Library/entitlements; marketing; contracts/providers; security/audit; legal/compliance; rights complaints; and support. Availability is assessed per request and applicable law.
7. Request procedure
A requester should use the current prescribed PAIA access-request procedure and provide enough information to identify the record, their contact details, requested access form and any authority to act for another person. BookLaunchIQ may require reasonable identity or authority verification and applicable fees where permitted.
8. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused where PAIA permits or requires refusal, including to protect privacy, confidential or commercial information, safety/security, privileged information and other statutory interests. This Manual does not promise disclosure of all records.
9. Remedies
A requester may use the complaint or court mechanisms available under current PAIA procedure for a private-body request. Current Information Regulator PAIA resources describe applicable forms and procedures.
10. POPIA processing
BookLaunchIQ processes personal information for publishing services, accounts, Store transactions, delivery, support, security, rights complaints and legal compliance. It may process information relating to users, authors, customers, complainants and representatives; share with applicable service-provider categories; transfer internationally where lawful; and use reasonable safeguards.
11. Availability and updating
This Manual is available on the BookLaunchIQ website and will be made available through other channels where required. It will be updated when material information changes.
12. Forms and operational compliance
Official PAIA forms and resources, including current access-request, outcome/fees and complaint forms, are linked through the Information Regulator. Information Officer registration, PAIA Manual upload and annual reporting are operational compliance actions that require verified Owner evidence and are not asserted as complete by this draft.
